Fulfilling your purpose

Fulfilling your purpose

A ghost passing by ever so often

reminding of people and places long forgotten,

Or so I had thought.

-

People come and go through our lives,

each with a special purpose; a special lesson to teach.

And when they have fulfilled their purpose, they will move on.

The lesson your presence brought was that;

To live and love is part of life,

And so is to leave.

-
You did leave without a goodbye, and till this day

I wish it had been different; had been any other way.

But remembering now what has gone,

I realize that with an ending, a beginning is born

And for the new beginning you brought to my life,

 I thank you.

    • Well, it depends on how you look at it. Being yourself, while you’re interacting with people in your life is bound to teach them something. And sometimes when the lesson is learned, it’s time to move on. I’m not saying it’s something conscious, but it’s my opinion of how life works.

  1. You know recently while doing a triathlon in Wales and swimming fairly far out in rolling waves, I caught the face of a person about 5 feet away. As we were swimming my head would turn to breath at the same time as their’s did and we’d just look at each other for a moment. This synchronistic connection happened a few times. I wondered to myself what was the purpose of this very brief connection in a very unusual place when I would most likely never see this person again?

And isent this the case with many people in our lives – a fleeting moment of connection in a street, in a game, in the workplace, wherever. So what if any is the purpose of these brief connections? Perhaps it is simply to send them best wishes or a quiet blessing before our paths diverge again.

Another Great poem Walaa, keep up the great work

    Best wishes

    • Thank you Sean for your kind message :)

I think actually it’s hard to know what the purpose people serve in your life while they’re in it, at least for me, I only realize it in retrospect. I myself have had connections with people, mostly while travelling, we share some stories, or a few laughs, and I do think to myself, I most probably will never see this person again, but yet here we are, talking or laughing, and enjoying our times. And that might as well be the reason they’re there; to know you’re not alone, and have you enjoy those moments.

Thank you again for your comment and reading my post.
Hope all is well with you :)
